Eurovision star Dami Im headlines Cowboys flood concert
AUSSIE singer-songwriter Dami Im will headline a special concert after the Cowboys’ season-opening match this weekend.
The ‘Together for North Queensland’ concert will be dedicated to raising spirits in the region after the historic floods.
Im will perform a 30-minute post-match concert at 1300SMILES Stadium, with members and fans invited on to the field to watch the Australian Eurovision Song Contest representative.
“I have been so touched by the recent events in North Queensland. I’ve always loved my time in Townsville and am so honoured to be able to play a small part in bringing a bit of joy back to a deeply-deserving community,” Ms Im said.
The Round 1 match between the Cowboys and St George Illawarra Dragons will also double as a fundraiser, with GIVIT donation collectors at the gates and free kids’ amusements and fireworks before kick-off.
The National Rugby League will also donate $100 for every point scored across eight matches in Round 1 to the North Queensland Flood Appeal.
