Tax return 2019 bonus: Best value holidays under $1000

Need a bit of help with your tax return?

So you’ve sorted your tax and finally received that sweet return. But now what?

Most Aussies will decide to put it straight into their savings, while others (ahem, us) will be putting their tax dollars towards something a little more fun.

Research from Finder has found that 12 per cent of Australians (particularly Gen Y) will be spending their tax dollars on travel, and if you’re going to be receiving the government’s $1080 tax bonus, all the more reason to put that cash towards a trip.

“You might be tossing up whether to put that extra money on your mortgage or go on a holiday, but don’t underestimate the power of a getaway,” Bessie Hassan, money expert at Finder explains.

As for those struggling to decide between their savings and a holiday? Spend half your return and go on a road trip for a long weekend.

With so many holiday destinations to choose from, here are some suggestions to get the ball rolling.
