A new build with beach-holiday vibes

A home with a beachy feel is about as Aussie as it gets.

At the Monarto 263, by Dennis Family Homes, light-oak coloured floors and cabinetry and whitewashed timber panelling help create a relaxed seaside atmosphere that will put you in a laid-back mood every time you walk through the door.

Dennis Family Homes national design manager Kelvyn Rowley said the home was designed to match today’s popular 12.5m-wide blocks. An abundance of light, extended doorways and oversized windows added to the bright and spacious feel throughout.

“The Monarto definitely makes an impression on those looking for maximum space on a smaller block,” Mr Rowley said.

All set for downtime: another view of the family room.

The home has a feature wall in the entry that provides a layer of privacy for rooms at the back – it’s a smart feature buyers seem to love and was generated through feedback.

Instead of giving a clear, straight view to the living areas, the entry passage is L-shaped, creating an intimate welcome as it gently guides visitors towards the hub of the home.

Mr Rowley said the footprint of the kitchen, family and meals area was ideal for a busy family unit.

The open-plan layout brings together spaces that encourage family interaction, while a sliding glass door from the family room leads to a covered alfresco zone for indoor/outdoor living.

A lounge room at the front offers an extra-private leisure area and is perfect for those times when you want a quiet place away from the main activity zone.

“The clear separation between the front living space and the kitchen and family/meals area also impresses potential customers,” Mr Rowley said.

Apart from the walk-in pantry, which introduces an additional workspace and sink, the highlight of the kitchen is the island bench that clearly demonstrates what buyers are looking for today – a bench that is practical but also makes a stylish statement.

Finished in a Caesarstone top with waterfall ends, it has a breakfast bar and loads of storage, including a neat display unit at the front.

Bedrooms are zoned in an L-shaped wing that flows off the main living area.

The wing has three secondary bedrooms and a bathroom, as well as a main bedroom with an ensuite and walk-in wardrobe.

The Monarto is available in a choice of eight exterior looks. The Diggers Rest display home features the Boardwalk facade, which has a rendered portico and weatherboard panelling.

Dreamy getaway: the main bedroom.

The ensuite features a double vanity and plenty of storage.
