AFL 2020: Jimmy Bartel under fire for liking ‘very nasty’ comment about Nadia Bartel on Instagram, Lauren Mand
Retired AFL great Jimmy Bartel has come under fire after appearing to have ‘liked’ an Instagram comment about his former wife Nadia Bartel described as “very nasty”.
The Geelong champion has been holidaying in Japan with his new girlfriend Lauren Mand when his account liked a comment left on one of his posts, reports the Daily Mail.
The comment, seemingly referring to Nadia, read “So glad you finally saw through the boring Instagram obsessed *****”.

Bartel’s account, ‘jrb03’, was seen to have liked the comment which drew a response from a furious social media user.
“By “liking” this comment, I’ve just lost much respect for you, it’s very nasty, aimed at the mother of your children,” they wrote.
Bartel has reportedly since deleted the comment meaning it, and his like, are now unavailable.
Jimmy and Nadia announced their separation in August last year.
“It’s not great, but I am probably not going to provide any commentary on it,” Bartel said in his first appearance after the news broke.
“I know I am in the public eye and people are interested, but it is a private matter and I ask for a bit of respect because obviously Nadia and the boys (are) involved.
“I still enjoy coming to work and I love working with everybody in football. I love the game so I can’t see why I wouldn’t keep showing up for work.”
The pair first met at the 2008 Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix and got engaged in 2012 on a private beach in Mexico. They married on the Bellarine Peninsula in 2014.
